Picnic Date

Picnics are such a cute date idea; they’re cute, have scenic views, have your favourite foods, and give you more privacy than most other dates out these. This makes them so brilliant for both first dates and couples.

You can bring along other activities to do whilst on the date, like painting, playing cards, or a puzzle. Either way, it’s the perfectly crafted date.

However, knowing how to set up a picnic date can be tricky, since there’s many factors which could quickly turn a cute date into a mess. Luckily, I’ve written a full guide on How to Plan a Picnic, making sure you have the perfect date!

Aquarium Visit

Aquariums are so underrated, the atmosphere is so calming and peaceful, making it the perfect cosy and intimate setting to enjoy time with your date.

Not only that, you spend lots of time exploring the exhibits and walking through the aquarium, so the date can last as long as you like. For couples, this style of date is the perfect quiet setting to simply enjoy spending time together.

Alternatively, a fun date like this can be good as a first date. The variety of things to see and explore means that you’ll have loads of things to talk about. Hopefully, this will help you avoid awkward lulls and feel more comfortable around each other

Fruit Picking

I used to love fruit picking as a kid. You’d spend all ay surrounded buy gorgeous fruit bushes and sprawling orchards, then come home and make sweet fruit salads. A date would capture that same, cute and cosy feeling and would make for a great romantic setting.

You can each grab a bowl of your favourite fruits to enjoy, and even get dressed in cutesy outfits which fit the rural, cottagecore setting. You can make it more fun by both dressing in that sort of style and getting into the

Baking Night In (You can pair this with the fruit picking!)

Don’t want the fruit picking date to end? Simply turn it into a baking night! This is the cutest way to end the day. You could use the fruits to make a number of desserts; crumbles, pies, Eton Mess and loads more!

You could also bake a dinner together and turn it into an at home dinner date. To make the atmosphere more romantic you could dress up your dining room table with candles and a nice table runner. This will really help make the date feel more put together and romantic, rather than just another night in. This is especially true for couples who already live together, sometimes some new decorations are all it takes to make a night romantic.

Finish a Lego Set Together

Lego sets can be a cute date idea to try, and can easily be paired with a birthday present if you’re stuck on what to get them. For example, you could get your partner this Lego plant set, and then spend an evening putting it together.

Pair this with a take out and a cosy movie in the background, and you’ve got yourself the perfect at-home date night.

Do a Craft Workshop together

For those who are a bit more creative, I would absolutely recommend taking a workshop together. These can be for a bunch of activities like painting, pottery, or even crafts like rug making. This means you can choose an activity which you’ll both enjoy.

Another bonus of this sort of date is that you can keep all the things you make, meaning you’ve got a cute little souvenir to remember your date by. This makes it quite a good anniversary or first date, since you can keep what you made to remember the occasion

Go to a Museum or Gallery

If you’re an art or science lover, then this idea is perfect for you. Museums are a fun way to spend some time together in a calm and quiet setting. It’s also great for first dates in case you aren’t sure what to talk about, since there’s loads to see.

Another cool thing to consider is late nights at the museum, loads of places now offer adults the chance to explore the museum late at night. This is perfect for a quieter atmosphere if you’re not a fan of crowded places. The Natural History Museum in London offers lots of late night or over night events, so keep an eye out throughout the year.

Museum dates are good for those who prefer quieter places.

Go on a Forest Walk

A forest walk is a lighter activity than a full hike whilst still letting you enjoy nature and being outdoors. It’s a great way to get out into nature and can be a nice break if you live in a city or town.

To make the date ore interesting , you could make up a hunt to see if you can collect certain items during your walk. For example, who can collect the largest pine cone? After the walk, whoever ‘won’ can treat the other to dinner or to a coffee.

Go Flower Picking or a Flower Market

Spend the date choosing specific flowers and making a unique bouquet, then you can swap them with each other can keep them in a vase as a remind of the date. If you want to preserve them then you can dry them.

A flower picking date is great for those who like to be around nature.
