Gifts giving can be a stressful time, especially when it comes to someone who has a very strong aesthetic. This is especially true for the cottagecore aesthetic, which has a specific love of quirky, earthy or preloved items. Because of how broad this aesthetic is, finding cottagecore gifts can be difficult. Luckily for you, I have curated a perfect list of items which any cottagecore enthusiast will adore!

This article contains affiliate links which will earn me a small amount of commission should you choose to buy the products. Thank You!

1. Terrariums

This is good for introducing a little bit of nature into their home whilst also keeping their plants manageable. Since the terrariums are contained, these structures provide a lovely bit of low-maintenance greenery into a room. These can also be good gifts for serial plant collectors. The glass terrarium can provide a contrast to their potted plants, and be something they wouldn’t think to get themselves.

here is a good example of a terrarium, but you can further customise the type of terrarium they’d prefer. For example, would they prefer a geometric metal frame or a natural bottle shape like in the photo?

2. Scented Candles

Many think candles are generic cottagecore gifts but they can actually be a lovely present, showing just how well you know and love someone. The secret to success? Their perfume or aftershave!

To find a candle which feels like them, simply search up their favourite perfumes online and find the notes. Then, match these notes to the candle you buy, I can guarantee they’ll love the smell!

For someone into woody scents, this patchouli and sandalwood candle is perfect. This is also good as a gender neutral option if you are looking for a less outwardly feminine scent. I love these particular candles because the design is so cute and can be reused once the candle has burnt out. Simply remove the wax and add a tea light, and it becomes the cutest tea light holder.

A more floral option would be this lavender and lilac candle. I especially love the colour and design of this candle I think it’s fun yet quaint, perfect for a cottagecore vibe. This scent is also perfect as part of a larger, spa or relaxation gift since lavender scents can help a person relax and fall asleep.

3. Vases and Plant Pots

Nature is, naturally, a big part of this aesthetic. However, something which typically goes unsaid is just how expensive a nice vase or plant pot can be. Because of this, plant pots and vases will be greatly appreciated as cottagecore gifts. It would be even sweeter to match the pot to them in someway, perhaps it could be their favourite colour.

Another idea is to buy them pots with their latest projects in mind. For example, if they plan to start an herb garden soon then some starter pots will be perfect.

4. Flowers

Speaking of vases, Bouquets are super underrated cottagecore gifts! These are most appropriate for birthdays and are a great way to make someone feel special and appreciated. You can include their favourite flowers or colours into the bouquet and pair it with a vase for the perfect gift.

I would recommend getting a mixed bouquet rather than a single flower bouquet. I would avoid roses unless they specifically love roses, as they can feel too generic as opposed to a personal bouquet.

5. Stained glass

Stained glass is the perfect gift option for a cottagecore lover, the quaint and colourful designs are delightfully beautiful. They also catch the light and can make a room feel brighter. Even better if you can get a stained glass ornament which depicts more nature themes such as flowers or scenes, these will make the perfect cottagecore gifts which they won’t expect.

This hanging ornament is a brilliant example, the pattern is perfect as an indoor or outdoor decoration. Here’s different design in my home decoration tips page, which has more inspiration for some cottagecore gifts, if you’re stuck.

6. Wicker Baskets

Wicker baskets are a statement piece for all cottagecore enjoyers, and as such would be a great gift for anyone who doesn’t yet have one. These are very versatile and you can get different types of baskets to suit the needs of the person you are gifting it to. You can also fill the basket with little confectionaries or self care products to make the gift feel more complete

For example, an outdoorsy person may love a picnic basket but not think to get one for themselves, make them the perfect cottagecore gifts to get. Be careful if buying a large storage basket as this may not be wanted or they may not have the space for it in their home.

7. Throws and Blankets

Perfect for the colder months, a blanket is a cosy and sweet present to make the person you love feel comfy and warm. I do not think anyone would turn down a new, fresh, soft blanket making it the perfect understated gift. A home knitted blanket or throw would be especially sweet, but there are still plenty of options to buy if that’s not an option

This knitted throw is a great option for those looking to buy a blanket. You can also match the range of colours to their favourite colour or to their aesthetic (it is always appreciated when someone’s gift matches your aesthetic!)

8. Cottagecore Books

If you’re truly stuck on gifts to get, a book is a brilliantly versatile option. From fiction to cookbooks, there are options for all types of people. Also, you can also get them a little bookmark if they’re already an avid book reader.

For those want to start learning how to garden, this book from the Royal Horticultural Society is the perfect introduction.

Alternatively, a classic fiction option would be The Secret Garden by Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett. This cosy book centres around a girl who discovers a secret garden in her uncles home and through her adventures learns to grow and heal, a perfect, cosy cottagecore read.

9. Jewellery

People often overlook this type of gift when shopping for cottagecore enjoyers due to their tendencies to prefer practicality or quaintness. However, jewellery can be both gorgeous and durable enough to withstand daily wear, making it the best of both worlds. Instead of getting a purely metal piece, aim to get something with a gem such as a pendant necklace.

The colourful and rich jewel tones of gems are more reminiscent of the cottagecore style and can even be matched to their birthstone for a cute, personal touch.

10. Cottagecore Tea Pots

Unless they’re a coffee person, any cottagecore lover would absolutely adore a quant and cosy tea set. It is such a unique gift and will be useful in day to day life. You should get them a simple design and try to match the colour to their overall cottagecore aesthetic.

If they already have a tea set, there are several other related options for you to get or make them.

For example, you could get them a tea cosy to keep the pot warm. These are so cute and genuinely do work, as a tea lover I use it personally and it keeps the pot warm all morning. The linked cosy is so cute with it’s gingham design and lacy detail. Also, the design accommodates the handle and spout, making it easy to hold and pour the tea with the cosy on.

Another option is to get them a set of teas bags. You can customise this if you know their favourites or you could get them a whole variety of teas to try. This Pukka Tea Set comes in this adorable packaging and contains 45 tea bags in 9 different flavours, allowing to explore a range of herbal tea flavours.

Even better, herbal teas often have other wellness benefits like stress relief, making this a brilliant gift for someone in need of a little boost. For a more specifc guide to the effects of different herbal teas, check out this Herbal Tea Benefits guide from ‘Verywell Health’
